How to Rename the Task Bar Icon in Win 7

1. Right-click on the Taskbar icon you want to rename and choose 'Unpin this program from Taskbar.' This will remove the old version of the icon.
2. Locate the actual file, folder or desktop icon of the Taskbar icon you just removed.
3. Right-click the item and choose 'Rename' from the context menu.
4. Type the new name and hit 'Enter.'
5. Click on the item once to select it.
6. Hold down your mouse button and drag the item to the bottom left corner of your Taskbar. You will see a new icon pinned on your Taskbar again, using the new name that you assigned to it.
