How to Pin Run to the Windows 7 Taskbar

1. Right click on your desktop and select 'New' then 'Shortcut.'
2. Copy 'C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:::{2559a1f3-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}' into the text field and click 'Next.'
3. Choose a name for your shortcut, type it into the text field then click 'Finish.' You can select any name you wish, but we will simply use 'Run' for this guide.
4. Right click on your 'Run' shortcut from your desktop and select 'Properties.' Navigate to the 'Shortcut' tab and choose 'Minimized' from the drop-down menu next to the 'Run' section near the bottom of the window. Do not confuse this with the 'Run' near the top, if you named your shortcut that.
5. Click 'Change Icon' near the bottom of the window. Copy '%SystemRoot%\System32\imageres.dll' into the text field, and press 'Enter.' Choose the Run icon. It looks like a window in motion.
6. Click 'OK' to close the 'Change Icon' window and 'OK' again to close the 'Run Properties' window.
7. Drag your finished shortcut to the taskbar to pin it there.
