How to Use the Headphone Jack With HDMI in Windows 7

1. Make sure the appropriate devices are connected to the HDMI port and headphone jack on your computer. (Ex: display to HDMI and pair of headphones to headphone jack).
2. Click 'Start' (blue Windows logo) and select 'Control Panel' from the list of options on the right hand side.
3. Select the category labeled 'Hardware and Sound'. Under 'Sound', select the option 'Manage audio devices.'
4. Find your headphone jack under the 'Playback' tab. It may be labeled as 'High Definition Audio Device' or something similar.
5. Make sure the device is enabled (if not, right-click and select 'Enable). Also, you can set the device as default (if you have multiple audio playback devices) by selecting the device and clicking 'Set Default'.
6. Click 'Apply' after making the necessary changes.
