How to Find Out My Windows 7 CD Key

1. Download the Magical Jelly Bean utility (Resource 1). Click on the 'Download' entry at the bottom of the features column of the free version.
2. Double-click the file you downloaded to install the program. When the installation window opens, click 'Next' to begin. Click the button next to 'I Accept the Agreement' and click 'Next.' Select the installation directory or simply click 'Next' to install it in the default directory. Select whether to create a desktop icon and click 'Next.' The next window asks if you want to install the Realplayer program. Uncheck the box if you don't and then click 'Next.' Click 'Install' to start.
3. Ensure the block next to 'Launch Keyfinder' is checked and click 'Finish.' The program will run and open a window showing you various programs that the program can detect. Click on Windows 7 in the left pane.
4. Locate your product key in the right pane. The key is the fifth line from the top and is made of of five blocks of five characters each.

5. Navigate to the LicenseCrawler download page maintained by Softonic (Resource 2). Click the 'Download' entry next to the program name to save the file to your computer.
6. Double-click the .exe file to begin installation. Click 'Accept' to accept the Softonic license terms. Uncheck the entry, unless you want to install the Softonic toolbar, and click 'Download.' The program will install automatically and a window will open showing the LicenseCrawler folder.
7. Open the folder and double-click the LicenseCrawler application file.Click 'Run' to extract the files and install the program.
8. Select your language from the drop-down menu and click 'OK.' Read the license terms and click 'Accept' to continue.
9. Click the box beside '64bit' if you are using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 and click 'Search.' An advertisement window will open as the program performs the search but it will close in 20 seconds. When the search finishes, all located product keys will be displayed in the lower window. Look for the Windows 7 entry. The CD key will be listed on the last line of the entry.

10. Navigate to the ProduKey homepage, scroll to the middle of the page to locate the download links and select the version you want to download. Note that there is a separate version for 64-bit systems. Click the appropriate link to download the file to your computer.
11. Unzip the installation file and double-click the ProduKey.exe file. The program will run without needing to install itself on your computer.
12. Locate the Windows 7 entry in the ProduKey window. The CD key is the entry in the right column.
