How to Locate the Product Key from a Dell CD for Windows 7

1. Close the computer lid if your Dell PC is a laptop computer. Flip the computer over to find the product key sticker on the bottom of the unit.
2. Turn the computer off if your Dell is a desktop computer. Position the computer so the back of the unit can be easily viewed. Inspect the back of the unit for the product key sticker.
3. Lay the Dell desktop PC on its side if the sticker is not found on the back. Check the bottom of the computer for the product key sticker.
4. Open the lower front door on a desktop PC that does not have the sticker on the back or bottom of the unit. Inspect the inside of the door for the product key.
