How to Set Up a Bluetooth Headset on a Windows 7 Laptop

1. Power on your Bluetooth headset.
2. Click “Start” and select “Control Panel.”
3. Click the “Add a Device” link under 'Hardware and Sound' in the Control Panel window.
4. Select your headset in the list of available devices and click “Next.” Complete the steps to pair the device with your computer and have Windows automatically download its drivers.
5. Right-click the headset device in the Add a Device window and select “Properties.”
6. Click the “Services” tab at the top of the device’s Properties window.
7. Verify the “Headset” service check box is enabled. Click it and click “OK” if it isn’t.
8. Right-click the speaker icon in your system tray and select “Playback Devices.” Right-click the headset and select “Set as Default Device” to use it as your default audio output device.
9. Click the “Recording” tab at the top of the Sound window. Right-click the headset and select “Set as Default Device” to use it as your default audio input device.
