How to Turn Off a Background in Windows Remote Desktop

1. Click the Windows 'Start' button on the computer running Remote Desktop and enter 'gpedit.msc' in the search text box. This opens the policy editor.
2. Click the 'Local Computer Policy' on the left pane. This expands a list of options. Click 'Computer Configuration,' 'Administrative Templates,' 'Windows Components' and then 'Terminal Services.'
3. Double-click 'Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper' located in the center details pane. Select 'Enable' and click 'OK.' This saves your settings and disables the wallpaper on the Remote Desktop machine.
