How to Sync a BlackBerry With Windows 7
1. Download and install BlackBerry Desktop Software. (See Resources.) The file to download is a self-extractable program. Double-click on the file you downloaded. On Windows 7, you will be prompted whether you want to allow the program to make changes to your computer. Click 'Yes.' Once it is installed, run the program.
2. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer with the USB cable that came with the phone. If prompted click 'Yes.'
3. Click 'Get started with this device.' If your BlackBerry uses a BlackBerry Enterprise Server email, click 'Add my enterprise email account' and follow the on-screen directions.
4. Type a name for your BlackBerry when prompted.
5. Click the box next to 'Organizer data' to synchronize your contacts, memos, tasks and calendar. Click 'Finish.'
6. Click 'Organizer,' then 'Settings.' Check the box next to the application that has your data on your computer, such as 'Outlook.'
7. Click 'Setup.' Select the application that has the data on your computer again, then click 'Next.' You will now need to choose rules for what data to synchronize and how to do it. Read through the options and select the rules you want. When done, click 'Next,' then 'Finish.' Your BlackBerry is now set up to synchronize with your Windows 7 computer. Whenever you want to synchronize, plug your phone into your PC, and the BlackBerry Desktop Software will start. Click 'Organizer,' then 'Sync.'
