How to Unblock a Program in Windows Firewall Windows 7


1. Click 'Start' and 'Control Panel.' Enter 'Firewall' in the 'Search Control Panel' box in the upper right-hand corner of the 'Control Panel' dialog box. The results will appear automatically in the dialog box below the search box.
2. Click the 'Allow a program through Windows Firewall' link below the 'Windows Firewall' heading. Click the 'Change settings' button.
3. Scroll through the list of programs under the 'Allowed programs and features' heading and click the check box next to the program name you want to unblock. Click the check box under 'Home/Work (Private)' or 'Public' to give Internet permission to the program. Click the 'Add' button to finalize the change.
4. Click the 'Allow another program' button if you don't see the program you want to unblock in the listing under the 'Allowed programs and features' heading. Click the 'Browse' button then navigate to the directory containing the program you want to unblock. Double-click the program's name then click the 'OK' button to add the program to Windows Firewall's allowed list of programs.
5. Click 'OK' to close the 'Allowed Programs' dialog box. Click 'X' in the upper right-hand corner to close the 'Control Panel' dialog box.
