Printer Sharing With No Password
Use HomeGroup to Share Printers
1. Click the 'Start' button to display the Search box on the computer connected to the printer to share.
2. Type 'homegroup' (without quotes) into the Search box and press the 'Enter' key. The HomeGroup wizard will launch.
3. Click the 'Create HomeGroup' button. The Create HomeGroup menu will start.
4. Check the checkbox in front of each library to share with other users. Be sure the 'Printers' option is selected.
5. Click the 'Next' button. The HomeGroup password will be displayed. Record this password and provide it to each computer that will join the HomeGroup.
6. Click 'Finish.' The Windows 7 HomeGroup is now created and the printers on the computer are shared. Each additional computer on the network many now join the HomeGroup. Once computers are joined to the HomeGroup, no password will be required to access shared printers.
Disable Password Protection on Printers for All Users
7. Click the 'Start' button and then click 'Control Panel.'
8. Click the 'Network and Internet' option, and then click 'Network and Sharing Center.'
9. Click the downward pointing arrow next to 'Printer Sharing.'
10. Click the 'Turn on Printer Sharing' option, and then click 'Apply.'
11. Select the radio button next to 'Turn Off Password Protected Sharing' and click 'Apply.' This action will allow anyone on the network to access shared printers without a password.
