How to Make Windows 7 Recovery Discs for HP or Compaq Computers

1. Close out all of the programs that are currently open on your computer desktop.
2. Click 'Start,' then click 'All Programs.'
3. Click 'Recovery Manager,' then click 'Recovery Disc Creation.'
4. Enter you administrator password in the dialogue box that appears on your screen. Click 'Enter.' The Recovery Disc Creation program will appear on your screen.
5. Click 'Next' in the lower, right corner of the program. The Recovery Disc Creation program will take a few minutes to determine how many DVD-R discs will be needed to create the recovery discs. The number of discs needed will be displayed in the lower, right corner of the program beneath 'Number of Discs Required.'
6. Insert a blank DVD-R disc into your computer and click 'Next.' The disc will be ejected when the program is done creating it.
7. Remove and label the disc 'Recovery Disc 1.'
8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 until all of the recovery discs have been created. Continue labeling the discs in numerical order.
9. Click 'Finish' when a message appears on your screen that says 'Recovery Manager successfully created the recovery discs.'
10. Store the recovery discs in a safe place where you will easily be able to find them if you need them.
