How to Install a Motorola SB5100 Cable Modem on Windows 7
1. Plug the Motorola SB5100 in to power. Connect the coaxial cable in to the cable connector on the back of the modem. Wait between five and 30 minutes, if this is the initial setup, for the modem to receive the Internet signal.
2. Put the installation disc in to your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions for the Motorola modem's installation disc to install the software.
3. Connect an Ethernet cable to the top Ethernet port on your modem. Connect the other end to your computer's network interface card. Your computer will pick up the modem and install the appropriate software for use.
