1. Open the Start menu and type 'regedit' in the search bar.
2. Click 'regedit' from the result list, then click 'Yes' or supply your administrative password if prompted by Windows.
3. Click the 'plus' symbol next to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', followed by 'Software', 'Microsoft', 'Windows', 'CurrentVersion', 'Applets,' and 'Paint'.
4. Right click the key labeled 'Recent File List' on the left of the screen and click 'Delete.' Click 'Yes' when asked to confirm the action. Your Microsoft Paint history has now been erased.
