How to Search for Multiple Files in Windows


1. Click the 'Start' button.
2. Click 'Search' for Windows XP and previous versions. The search field for Windows Vista and Windows 7 is located at the bottom of the 'Start' menu.
3. Separate each search term with a semicolon for Windows XP and previous versions. For example, enter 'File;word;picture' (without quote marks) to search for 'File,' 'Word' and 'Picture.' Separate each search term with 'OR' for Windows Vista and Windows 7. For example, enter 'File OR word OR picture' (without quote marks) to search for 'File,' 'Word' and 'Picture.'
