How to Create an MS
Using the Windows Format Utility
1. Insert a blank 3.5-inch floppy disk in your computer's internal floppy drive or USB floppy drive.
2. Click “Start” and then click “My Computer.”
3. Right click on the “A:\\” drive icon. Click “Format.”
4. Click on the check box next to “Create an MS-DOS startup disk”.
5. Click “Start.” The formatting process will begin. You will be prompted when the process is complete.
Using a Command Line
6. Click \'Start\' and then \'Run.\'
7. Enter \'cmd\' in the \'Open:\' box. Click \'OK.\' A command prompt dialog box will open.
8. Insert a blank 3.5-inch floppy disk in your computer's internal floppy drive or USB floppy drive.
9. Type \'format a:/s\'. Press the \'Enter\' or \'Return\' key on your keyboard.
10. Press \'Enter\' or \'Return\' when prompted with the message \'Insert new diskette for drive A: and press ENTER when ready ...\'
11. Enter a \'Volume Label\' for the disk when prompted. Press \'Enter\' or \'Return.\'
12. Press \'N\' when prompted if you want to format another disk.
