How to Fix Windows Firewall Problems at Startup
Option One
1. Click 'Start,' and then click 'Run.' Or, if you are using Windows 7, hold down the Windows key and then press “R.”
2. Type 'services.msc' (without the quotation marks) and then click 'OK.'
3. Double-click on 'Microsoft Protection Service' from the list of services that appear.
4. Select 'Automatic' under 'Startup Type' if it is not already selected.
Option Two
5. Click 'Start,' and then click 'Run.' Or, if you are using Windows 7, you can hold down the Windows key and press “R.”
6. Type 'appwiz.cpl' (without the quotation marks) and then click 'OK.'
7. Click on any third-party firewall programs from the list of currently installed programs, and then click 'Remove.'
Option Three
8. Click 'Start' and then 'Run' or hold down the Windows key and press “R” in Windows 7.
9. Type the following commands, pressing 'Enter' after each command:Net stop MSFWSVC
Net stop MSFWDRV
Net stop MSFWHLPR
Net start MSFWHLPR
Net start MSFWDRV
Net start MSFWSVC
10. Click 'OK.'
