How to Access BIOS on an HP Pavilion Laptop


1. Click on 'Start' or the Windows orb logo on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop to show the Start menu. Click the 'Shutdown' option from the menu to turn your laptop off.
2. Press the power button to turn the laptop on.
3. Press the 'F10' (Windows Vista or 7) or 'F1' (Windows XP or earlier) key on your keyboard while the display screen is blank. It is okay to press the key every few seconds to ensure the key command is accepted.
4. Wait for the BIOS Setup screen to show. Press the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate the Setup utility. Press the 'Enter' key to execute commands or select submenus. Press 'F10' to save your changes and exit the setup. Press the 'Esc' (Escape) key to exit the setup without saving your changes.
