How to Transfer Between Windows Apple

1. Connect both computers to the router. You can do this with an Ethernet cable or a wireless networking card (if your router has a wireless networking antenna). Wireless networking may require additional configuration.
2. Enable file sharing on the Apple computer. To do this, first click the Apple menu, choose 'System Preferences' and then 'Sharing.' Then, click the lock icon in the lower left-hand corner and enter your password. Finally, check the box next to 'File Sharing.' Take note of the Computer Name listed near the top of this window; you will need it in Step 4.
3. Open Finder, click 'Go' and then 'Home.' Drag any files you want to share into the folder named 'Public.'
4. Click 'Start' on the Windows computer and choose 'Run.' Type '\\computer-name' and then replace 'computer-name' with the Computer Name from Step 2. Press 'Enter.' If you are prompted to log in, use the username and password you use to log on to the Apple computer.
5. Choose the folder that starts with your Apple username. Inside, you will find all the files you dragged into the Public folder.
6. Drag files into and out of the shared folder. You can even open files directly from the shared folder without copying them. Any changes you make to the files will appear in the Public folder on the Apple computer.
