How to Set a Timer to Shut Down a Computer


1. Click 'Start' then select 'All Programs,' 'Accessories,' 'System Tools' and then click 'Task Scheduler.'
2. Look to the right of the Task Scheduler screen and click 'Create Basic Task.' Give the task a name and click 'Next.'
3. Set your shut-down time and settings and click 'Next.'
4. Select 'Start a Program' and click 'Next.'
5. Type '\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe' under the 'Program/script' box.
6. Type '/s' without quotes into the 'Add Arguments' box. Click 'Next.'
7. Click 'Finish' on the summary page.
