How to Determine the Version of Windows CE

1. Turn on the device and navigate to the today screen. Many Windows CE-enabled devices remember the last screen you used and return to that screen.
2. Click on the 'Start' button and choose the 'Settings' menu from the displayed window. Some devices allow you to use arrow keys, while with others you can use a stylus. Some devices have a button with the Windows icon on it that you can use to get to the Start menu from any screen.
3. Select the 'Control Panel' from the menu by tapping it with the stylus or using the arrows to highlight the option. Inside the control panel, choose the 'Systems' icon. The option might also be listed as 'System Information,' rather than the control panel, and you might have to scroll down to the next page of options.
4. Click the 'Properties' option, which brings up a window listing the CPU, Speed, RAM and the ROM version. If you had the 'System Information' option from Step 3, that can also bring up the window listing the version of the ROM.
5. Write down the ROM version information. The ROM version denotes your Windows CE version.
