How to Edit the Registry to Change Windows Time
1. Click 'Start' and type 'regedit' into the search box. Press 'Enter.'
2. Expand each folder tree to reach the following path:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time.
3. Change the 'AvoidTimeSyncOnWan' to '1' if you do not want your machine to actively sync with external time servers.
4. Change the 'LocalNTP' value to '0' if you want no time servers to be consulted. Setting it to '1' will connect with any standard work station for its time service.
5. Change the 'NtpServer' to an IP or DNS address of a time server. Your computer will then use this time server from which to update.
6. Change the 'Period' setting to change how often your time server is synchronized. Enter a number to specify the number of times daily you want to sync (for example, '0' means once a day).
7. Close the Registry Editor when you are done.
