How to Defrag Windows 7 System Files

1. Click 'Start,' 'All Programs,' then 'Accessories.'
2. Select 'System Tools,' then 'Disc Defragmenter.' This is the default program Windows 7 uses to defragment your computer.
3. Click 'Defragment Disk,' located in the bottom right hand corner. It may take some time to defragment the disk, anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the size of your hard drive and the amount of fragmentation.
