How to Change the Sounds on Windows Xp
How to Change Default Sounds in Windows
1. Open your Start menu.
2.
Go to Control Panel and select the Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices category.
3.
Under the 'Pick a Task' heading, click 'Change the Sound Scheme.' This will open the Sounds and Audio Device Properties window. In this window, there is a list of all the sounds Windows plays.
4.
Under 'Program Events,' select the event whose sound you would like to change. Beneath the list, you will see a pulldown menu titled 'Sounds.' This shows you which sound is currently applied to that event.
5.
Click the Browse button next to the pulldown menu. A new window will pop up where you can find any *WAV file on your computer that you wish to apply.
6. Select the *WAV file you like and click OK.
7. Click the Apply button, then the OK button, and you're finished!
