How do I Change the Default OS to Load in Windows XP?
1. Click the Windows 'Start' button and select 'Run.' Enter 'cmd' into the text box and press 'Enter.' This opens the Windows command line utility.
2. Enter 'bootcfg /?' and press enter. This opens a list of options for your boot.ini file configuration. This command is helpful if you forget the syntax for the bootcfg command.
3. Enter the following to change the default operating system in the boot.ini file:bootcfg /default /ID#Replace '#' with the number located next to the operating system in your menu. For instance, if you boot your computer and you want the second operating system in the list to boot by default, enter the following to set it as the default:bootcfg /default /ID2
4. Press enter to execute the boot.ini command. Reboot your computer to see the changes.
