Can You Have an Apple Laptop That Is a Windows PC?

Requirements
To install Windows on your Mac laptop, you need to purchase it separately as a Windows license is not included. A full version of Windows is required rather than the upgrade edition. Check the terms of your Windows license agreement to make sure you are complying with its terms. You should not use the same copy of Windows on more than one computer.
Versions
Apple's Boot Camp allows you to install Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later. 64-bit versions of XP are not supported. The later Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems are both supported by Boot Camp and some Mac laptops allow you to install 64-bit versions of these operating systems as well as 32-bit versions. Apple details online exactly which versions are supported on which hardware platforms.
Installation
The Boot Camp Assistant utility, supplied with Mac OS X, allows you to allocate a proportion of your hard drive as a separate partition to use with your Windows installation. Once you have created the partition, you use the Windows installation disc to install the operating system on this dedicated partition. Apple supplies a set of Windows device drivers with Mac OS X that should be installed immediately after the installation of Windows to allow all of the hardware features of your Mac laptop to function correctly within the Windows environment.
Usage
Once Windows is installed alongside Mac OS X on your Apple laptop you can choose which operating system to use by holding down the Mac's 'Command' key when starting the machine. This shows a menu allowing you to choose your preferred environment. Once either operating system is loaded, you can choose a default operating system from System Preferences in Mac mode or Control Panel in Windows.
