DLL files are widely used throughout the Windows operating system and Rundll runs hundreds of times a day on the average computer, so the cause of a Rundll error can be difficult to determine. The most likely causes, however, are installing or uninstalling software incorrectly or an infection by a virus, adware or spyware.
