How to Unlock a Computer in Windows Vista

1. Place the recovery disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Turn the computer off and turn it back on. Once the computer reboots, press the 'F12' option on your keyboard to begin booting the recovery disc.
2. Run the recovery process. Click on the radio button displayed on the left side of the recovery screen to choose the recommended recovery process.
3. Follow the prompts to complete the entire recovery process. Click on all of the recovery disc's recommended settings recovery configurations. Do not alter any of the recovery disc's settings or available options. Your computer screen will display an indication upon the successful completion of the recovery process.
4. Choose a new password for your computer. When the recovery disc redirects you to the initial startup of Windows Vista, you will be prompted to configure your computer's personalized settings.
5. Choose the customized settings you prefer. When the Windows Vista welcome screen appears, you will be prompted to choose whether or not you prefer a password or not. Opt to enter a password. Type the password in and confirm the password by typing it in again. Click 'Enter' to process the password.
