How to Repair Corrupted Fonts in Windows

1. Click on 'Start,' 'Control Panel' and choose 'Fonts' to begin the process of reinstalling fonts that you are having problems with in Vista and Windows 7. Older operating systems may require an extra step and you will need to choose 'Settings' before you can select the 'Fonts' folder.
2. Remove the fonts that are not working correctly by right-clicking on the correct folder or font and choose 'Delete.' On older operating systems, you should reboot your computer before reinstalling the font.
3. Download the font you wish to reinstall from a trusted source and save it to your desktop.
4. Right-click on the downloaded file and click on 'Extract' on Vista and Windows 7. Right-click on the extracted file and click 'Install.' On older versions of Windows, click on 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' 'Settings' and choose 'Fonts.' Select 'Install New Fonts' and follow the dialog box's prompts.
5. Reboot older Windows operating systems to make sure the font is registered. It may be a good idea to open a software program such as Word to see if the font works correctly.
