How to Reinstall Windows Vista on a Dell Inspiron 1525
1. Press the start/shutdown button at the top center of the notebook's keyboard to turn on the computer. Load the Windows Vista DVD or CD into the tray on the right side of the laptop. The drive will automatically begin reading the installation disk.
2. Choose 'Install now' on the Windows Install screen that appears upon loading of the installation disk.
3. Choose 'Get important updates for installation' or decline the updates on the following menu. Microsoft recommends choosing to get the updates to ensure that you install the most secure and up-to-date version of the operating system.
4. Enter the 25-character product key when prompted for OS authentication. Read and accept the license terms.
5. Follow the instructions on the screens that follow to complete the reinstallation.
