How to Install a Brother MFC Scanner


1. Go to http://www.brother.com to search for the appropriate driver to install the software for your scanner. Click 'Downloads/FAQs/Help & More' located in the 'Downloads and Support' box on the home page.
2. Select 'Multi-Function Center' located in the drop-down menu in the middle of the page. Another drop-down menu will immediately appear without the page even refreshing. It will prompt you to select your model number. Scroll through the list and locate the name and model number of your scanner. Click 'View Support Information.'
3. Locate the 'Downloads' area on the next screen and click on your model number, which should be listed directly below the 'Downloads' title. A popup screen will appear asking for your the type of download you desire, your operating system and language. In the step 1 box, click 'Drivers.' The page will refresh for step 2. Click which operating system your computer functions off of. Last, simply enter your language. Click 'search' at the bottom of the screen.
4. Click 'More Information' in the table. This should be located in the file category. When the screen refreshes, click 'Download.' When the 'End License Agreement' appears, click 'I Agree' to start the download. The download will start automatically. When it is complete, click 'Open' to begin initializing the software.
5. Plug your scanner's USB adapter in when prompted for the computer and software to discover the actual hardware. When the hardware is successfully found, the InstallShield Wizard will indicate the completion of the setup. Click 'Finish' to end the installation process.
6. Print the 'Test Page' that the scanner's software provides to ensure the setup and cartridges are working properly. When you are done, click 'OK' to confirm that the test page has printed successfully.
