How to Create a Copy of Windows XP System Disk

1. Insert your XP system disk into your CD drive.
2. Open your chosen CD-burning program. If you have never burned a CD before, there are many high-quality programs to choose from. The most popular is Nero, which you can download for free from the link in Resources below. This tutorial will use Nero, but any similar burning program will work as well.
3. Insert your XP system disk into your CD drive. If you have two CD drives, insert it into one and insert a blank CD into the other drive. Otherwise, put the blank CD aside for now.
4. Open Nero and click on the 'Image, Project, Copy' icon on the left side of the start screen.
5. Click the 'Copy Entire CD' button on the right side of the next window.
6. Select the source and destination drives from the 'Select source and destination' screen. If you have only one CD/DVD drive, Nero will prompt you to remove the system disk and insert the blank disk.
7. Click the 'Copy' button to begin.
8. Eject both disks when the process is complete.
