How to Change the Windows XP Startup Sound


1. Go to the 'Start' menu, click 'Control Panel' and select 'Sounds and Audio Devices.' A new window will pop up.
2. Click on the 'Sounds' tab and find the 'Program Events' section. From this section, select 'Start Windows' and click 'Browse.'
3. Select a sound file from your computer. This sound must be in the .wav format. Click 'OK.'
4. Click 'OK' in the 'Sounds' window and restart the computer. Upon restart you should hear the new sound.
