How to Send a System Information Screen Shot on Paint in Windows XP

1. Press 'PrtSc' on your keyboard when the error occurs. This key combination takes a picture of the error and sends it to the Windows clipboard.
2. Click the Windows 'Start' button and type 'paint' in the Search text box. Press 'Enter' to open the MS Paint program. After the software loads, press 'Ctrl' and 'V' to paste the screen shot in the MS Paint program.
3. Press 'Ctrl' and 'S' and type a name for your screen shot. Save it in a directory on your computer. You must remember this name and location to attach it to the email.
4. Click the Windows 'Start' button and open your email program. In the New Message window where you type the email message, click the 'Attach' button and select your image you saved to your hard drive in step 3.
5. Send the message to your administrator. The image is sent with the email message, and the administrator can open and view the image with MS Paint or any other third-party image viewer.
