How to Fix an R6025 Error

1. Shut down the program. The program must be closed through the Task Manager. To access the Task Manager, right-click on an empty area within the task bar. Select 'Start Task Manager.' When the pop-up window appears, select the 'Applications' tab. Highlight the program being shut down and click the 'End Task' button at the bottom of the window. Using this method for closing a program ensures that the program has been completely shut down.
2.
Cleaing the registry unclogs this important database.
Clean out the registry. The registry is the central database for the computer's settings and options. Every program installed on the computer uses this registry. Because of constant upgrades and heavy use, the registry can become clogged. This clogging leads to error messages. Install a registry cleaner and run it. Run the previously shutdown program to see if the problem recurs.
3.
Make sure program updates can go through the firewall.
Update the program. As the operating system updates, many of the programs on the computer will also need updating. Window's Firewall blocks many programs from receiving necessary updates, which will cause runtime error messages such as the R6025. To allow program updates, open the Control Panel. Select 'System and Security' to access the Firewall. Under the 'Windows Firewall' heading, select 'Allow a program through Windows Firewall.' Click the 'Change settings' button. Check-mark the box next to the program-manufacturer's name to allow updates. If the program doesn't appear on the list, click the 'Allow another program' button and follow the instructions to add the program to the list. Close the window when finished. Run the program to see if the problem has been resolved.
4. Uninstall the program. Programs files become damaged for a number of reasons, ranging from viruses to accidental file erasures. A damaged program file can cause error messages. Open the Control Panel and select 'Uninstall a Program.' A window pops up with all the programs installed on the computer. Select the program and click on the 'Uninstall/Change' button. Follow the instructions to remove the program. After the program has been removed, run the registry cleaner program.
5.
Reinstall the program and download any needed updates.
Reinstall the program. Install the program following the installation disc's instructions. After the program is installed, go online to the software manufacturer's website. Check for program updates, patches and service-pack downloads. Download the appropriate update, patch or service pack. Install the downloaded files on the computer. Start the reinstalled program after any updates or patches have been installed.
