The Windows Vista Error Code 0X0
Identification
According to Microsoft, error code '0X0' is actually designed to let you know that your installation operation completed successfully. If the installation does not automatically continue, restarting your machine will often fix this problem.
Other Causes
Error codes ending in 0 or 1 are usually system errors in which Windows has not specifically identified the cause. In most cases, these errors are cause by hardware either malfunctioning or not working at its full capacity. During a Windows upgrade, the installation will not proceed if the system detects faulty hardware.
Common Fixes
If errors with the prefix 0X0 have caused your system to stop functioning correctly, run the hardware diagnostic tool provided by your PC manufacturer. This is used to determine what specific piece of hardware (such as RAM or hard drive) is not functioning correctly. If the system detects no error and you continue to encounter the problem, contact a PC professional for assistance.
