Logitech HD Webcam C310 Microphone Installation
Test Microphone
1. Go to 'Start,' 'All Programs,' 'Accessories' and then 'Sound Recorder.'
2. Click the record button, represented by the red circle, and speak into the microphone on the front of the camera. You should see a green line move, which means the microphone is picking up sound.
3. Click the 'Stop' button and then the 'Play' button. If you don't hear anything, make sure the Logitech microphone is selected.
4. Click 'Edit' and then 'Audio Properties.' 'Logitech Mic (HD Webcam C310)' should be under 'Default Device' under 'Sound Recording.' If the correct microphone does not appear, select it from the drop-down menu and repeat Steps 1 through 3 to make sure it works correctly. If the microphone works and you hear a recording, go to Section 2. If the microphone is not in the drop-down box, go to Section 3.
5. Unmute the microphone. Go to 'Start,' 'All Programs,' 'Accessories,' 'Entertainment' and 'Volume Control.'
6. Click 'Options' and select 'Properties.'
7. Select your webcam under 'Mixer Device' and check the box next to 'Capture' under 'Show the Following Volume Controls,' and then click 'OK.'
Select the Microphone
8. Launch the Logitech webcam software. Go to 'Start,' 'Programs,' 'Logitech' and 'Logitech Webcam Software.'
9. Go to 'Menu' and select 'Change Settings.'
10. Select 'Audio Settings.' You must have the video mode selected at the bottom of the image to adjust your audio.
11. Click the drop-down menu and select the C310 under 'Mic' in audio settings if it not listed already. If the C310 is not listed as a microphone option, go to Section 3.
Check Drivers
12. Go to 'Start' and select 'Control Panel.'
13. Select 'Hardware and Sound,' and then 'Device Manager' under the 'Devices and Printers' option.
14. Click the arrow next to 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' to expand that option.
15. Find 'Logitech microphone.' It should appear without a yellow exclamation mark or a red 'x.' If the microphone is not listed or shows an exclamation mark or 'x,' you must reload the drivers. You can find them on the software CD that came with your device or online.
