How to Hide Protected Operating System Files in the Registry
1. Press the 'Windows' and 'R' keys simultaneously. This will load a Run box on the bottom of your screen.
2. Type 'Regedit' and press the 'Enter' key. This will loadyour Windows Registry Editor.
3. Navigate to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced' in the left pane.
4. Double-click 'ShowSuperHidden' in the right pane. This opens a small dialog box.
5. Change the value in the 'Value data' box to '0' and then click 'OK.' The only valid numbers for this setting are '0' and '1.' Use '0' to hide protected operating system files and use '1' to show them. Restart your computer to apply changes.
