How to Get Out of a Blue Screen in Windows

1. Hold the power button on the computer down for 2 seconds or longer until the computer turns off.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the computer if the system will not turn off from the power button. Remove the battery from the computer if you have a laptop and it will not power down from the power button.
3. Restart your computer to see if the problem occurs again. Power down the computer or unplug the power cord if the computer boots back into the blue screen.
4. Restart your computer again and tap the 'F8' key on the keyboard as the computer starts to boot up. Wait for the Windows boot menu to appear.
5. Navigate through the options on the screen using your arrow keys and select 'Safe Mode.'
6. Press the 'Enter' key and allow the computer to boot into Safe Mode.
