How to Fix Windows GUI From the Command Prompt


1. Insert the Windows Installation CD into the computer.
2. Press 'Start,' click 'Run,' type 'cmd' and press 'Enter' to access the command prompt.
3. Type 'x:' and press 'Enter,' where 'x:' with the drive letter of your CD drive.
4. Type in 'cd i386' and press 'Enter.'
5. Type in 'winnt' and press 'Enter.'
6. Type in 'd:\i386' and press 'Enter.'
7. Press 'Enter' and 'F8' to begin the repair and accept the licensing agreement.
8. Highlight the drive containing your Windows installation and press 'R' to repair your GUI features.
