How to Fix Runtime Error 7

1. Restart your computer to free up its available memory. Programs can often eat up memory as they run and rebooting your system may help to clear memory.
2. Double-check the system requirements of the game or program you are attempting to use. You can usually find this on the box or instruction manual for the product. If your system does not have enough memory (either hard drive space or RAM), you will need to upgrade before you can proceed.
3. Verify that the software you are trying to run is updated and has been patched to the most recent version available from the manufacturer. You can find more information about patches and updates on the software developer's home page.
4. Test your system memory. Windows 7 or Vista users can do this by clicking 'Start' and selecting 'Run,' then typing 'memory.' Older versions of Windows will require users to download and install a third-party testing program (see Resources).
