How to Fix Network Errors


Verify the IP Address
1. To verify that the IP address is correct, go to 'Start' and click on 'Control Panel.'
2. In the control panel window that opens, double-click on the 'Network Connections' icon.
3. From the listed network connections, right-click on your network connection icon and then click on 'Status.'
4. In the 'Local Area Connection Status' dialog box, click on the 'Support' tab and verify your IP address. For additional assistance, contact your network administrator.
Verify that TCP/IP Is Installed
5. To verify that TCP/IP is installed, go to 'Start' and click on 'Control Panel.'
6. In the control panel window that opens, double-click on the 'Network Connections' icon.
7. From the listed network connections, right-click on your network connection icon and then click on 'Properties.'
8. In the 'Local Area Connection Properties' dialog box under 'This Connection Uses the Following Items,' click to select the 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' checkbox and then click on 'OK.' For additional help, contact your network administrator.
