How to Fix an 0X8007EFE Error
1. Log on to your computer and open your anti-virus software. Run a full scan on your system to remove any infections found.
2. Restart your computer and run the full virus scan again. Some infections can reestablish themselves upon reboot. Remove any infections found, then restart and run the virus scan software again until the system scans clean.
3. Open your anti-spyware software and run a full scan. Remove any spyware or malware found. The 0X8007EFE error is most often caused by a malware infection. That malware infection can prevent you from updating your computer or even connecting to the Windows Update page.
4. Restart your computer and run the malware detection tools again. Retry the Windows Update process after you are sure your system has been cleaned of all spyware, malware and virus infections.
