How to Connect an iPod to a Windows XP PC

1. Download and install the iTunes software program. This program is necessary in order to use your iPod on a Windows XP PC.
2. Open iTunes.
3. Connect the USB cord that came with your iPod to the iPod. How you connect the cord to the iPod will vary based upon which iPod you own. If you own an iPod that has the USB plug already connected to it (i.e. iPod Shuffle), you can skip this step.
4. Plug the opposite end of the USB cord into one of the working USB ports for your Windows XP PC. When the Windows XP PC recognizes the iPod, the iTunes software will list the device underneath “Devices” on the left side of the program.
