How Do I Troubleshoot the Memory Overflow in Windows XP?

1. Visit the computer hardware manufacturer's website for BIOS updates including updated drivers for your computer model. After you have applied those updates, if your computer still displays memory overflow errors, continue. Conduct this step first because the computer manufacturer is the only place you can obtain BIOS updates.
2. Run a diagnostic test. Click 'Start,' point to 'All Programs,' and then point to '
.'
3. Point to 'Utilities,' and then click on 'PC Diagnostic Tool.' The actual name of the tool may vary and is based on the manufacturer. However, it should contain one or both of the words 'diagnostic' and 'PC.'
4. Run the test and replace any RAM determined as flawed.
5. Check to make sure that all RAM is set at the same speed.
6. Set the speed of the CPU at the default. If your computer still displays memory overflow errors, visit the computer manufacturer's website for support or recommendations.
