How to Make My Cricket Broadband Faster


Update the Software
1. Plug your Cricket modem into one of the USB ports on your computer. The Cricket software program will start up immediately.
2. Click on 'Tools' in the Cricket Broadband menu and then click on 'Activation.'
3. Click on 'Download' to start the firmware update. Keep the modem connected for the entire installation process to avoid errors.
4. Click on 'Connect' in the Cricket Broadband window. Launch your browser to check and test the connection for improved speed.
Configure the Modem
5. Locate the modem icon, which is found in the 'Network Connections' folder in the Control Panel.
6. Look for the 'Cricket Broadband' icon and right-click on it. Select 'Properties' to open the window that will allow you to change the connection's speed settings.
7. Look for the 'Configure' menu and click to open.
8. Click on the little arrow at the left of the description to open the modem speed drop-down menu.
9. In Windows, the default speed is set at 230400. Adjust the speed of the modem to a higher number and check to see if you notice a difference. Continue adjusting the speed until you are satisfied.
