How to Map a Permanent Drive
1. Click the 'Start' button and then the 'Computer' tab.
2. Click the 'Map Network Drive' link option at the top of the 'Computer' window.
3. Click and select any available drive letter in the 'Drive:' drop-down box.
4. Type the path to the network computer or folder in the 'Folder' box. Alternatively, click the 'Browse' button and find the network folder or computer on the local network, then click the 'OK' button.
5. Enable the 'Reconnect at logon' option to connect to the network folder or drive every time you log onto your computer. Click the 'Finish' button. Windows connects to the new network drive and assigns a drive letter in 'Computer.'
6. Access the network drive just as you would any other hard drive or optical drive on your local computer.
