What Is Px.Dll?
Digital Audio Extraction
Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) is known commonly as 'ripping.' In this process audio is extracted from CDs, which normally store music in the AIFF format, and stored on the computer in waveform (WAV). Px.dll is a part of these processes and is used by most programs that involve the playing or re-formatting of audio files on your PC.
Technical
The Px.dll file is not considered critical in that its absence will not cause a computer to crash, though audio programs may not function normally. It also is considered to be a low memory usage program. Px.dll, by itself, doesn't use much of your central processing unit (CPU) nor will it slow your computer down.
Errors
Px.dll is a common source of errors. Because it is used by so many programs it may install multiple times, creating conflicts. It also may become fragmented or it may become damaged and need to be reinstalled. Px.dll also has been known to generate false positives in virus scans. A false positive occurs when something is identified as a virus or an infected file when it is not.
