How to Manually Remove Reinstall Outlook Express


Uninstall
1. Select the Windows Start icon, then go to Programs and choose Accessories. Click the Windows Explorer option.
2. Locate the following folders: The Stationery folder: C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Microsoft Shared\\Stationery, The Identities folder: C:\\Documents and Settings\\username\\Application Data\\Identities, and the Address Book folder: C:\\Documents and Settings\\username\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Address Book.
3. Right click on each folder and choose the \'Rename\' option. Rename these folders to old_stationery, old_identities, and old_address.
4. Locate and delete the registry keys for Outlook Express. Select the Windows Start button, and then choose Run. Enter regedit in the empty field and choose the \'OK\' button. To delete the registry key right click on each one and choose the \'Delete\' option. The following registry keys must be deleted:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Outlook Express
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\WAB
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Identities
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Outlook Express
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\WAB
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\Software\\Microsoft\\Active Setup\\Installed Components\\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\Software\\Microsoft\\Active Setup\\Installed Components\\{7790769C-0471-11D2-AF11-00C04FA35D02}
5. Rename several Outlook Express files. Select the Windows Start button, then choose Search option. Rename the following files by entering \'old_\' before the file name (example: old_Inetcomm.dll).Inetcomm.dll

Reinstall Outlook
6. Select the Windows Start button and choose the Run option. In the empty field enter %systemroot%\\inf then choose the \'OK\' button.
7. Locate the file MSOE50.inf (there is a long list of files). Right cilck on the file name and choose the \'Install\' option.
8. Insert your Windows CD in the CD drive (the wizard will prompt you for this) and the installation process will begin.
