How to Upgrade an Old Windows 98 Computer to Windows XP

1. Log in to your Windows 98 computer, making sure that all applications (especially antivirus programs) are shut down, to prevent interference with the Windows XP upgrade.
2. Insert your Windows XP CD into your computer and wait for the installation pop-up window to appear. Click on the 'Install' button and then click on the 'Upgrade' button.
3. Type in the product key for Windows XP (included with your copy of XP) and click 'Next.'
4. Click 'Install Now' and Windows XP is installed, upgrading your computer from Windows 98 to Windows XP.
