How to Go Into Safe Mode on an HP Pavilion Dv9000


1. Close all the programs that you are currently using. Click the Windows 'Start' button, click the the arrow next to the Lock button, or the 'Turn Off Computer' icon, in the lower-right corner and click 'Restart' to restart your computer.
2. Press the 'F8' button repeatedly as the operating systems boots and before you see the Windows logo. This launches the Advanced Boot Options. Scroll through the menu and select 'Safe Mode.' If you want to use the network connection in Safe Mode, select 'Safe Mode with Networking.' If you want to use the command prompt in Safe Mode, select 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt.'
3. Press 'Enter.' If prompted, type your administrator password to launch Windows Safe Mode. Make the system changes that you want to make. When you finish, restart your computer to resume the normal Windows.
